Accelerator and FEL physics

Your tasks

You will work on the new SwissFEL (free-electron laser) soft X-Ray beamline Athos. Further you will perform numerical simulations to investigate and optimize the production of attosecond FEL pulses. In particular, you will focus on laser-based longitudinal phase space manipulations, on the soft X-Ray beamline Athos of SwissFEL. In addition, you will take part in the commissioning of the FEL beamline Athos, which will start in winter 2019.

Your profile

You hold a Master degree in physics. Knowledge in either free-electron lasers, accelerator physics and/or quantum laser physics is beneficial, as well as some experience in running large scale simulations on computer clusters.
