For the Muon Physics Group of the Laboratory for Particle Physics we are looking for a

Research Scientist (Tenure Track)

Your tasks

  • Contribution to one or more of the particle physics experiments at PSI (in particular, PIONEER or another experiment) 
  • Support and further development of the MIDAS data acquisition system in collaboration with the MIDAS community including TRIUMF, Canada. Support of PSI experiments using MIDAS 
  • Area coordination in the PiE5 area including support of the experiments in this area

Your profile

  • PhD in experimental nuclear or particle physics 
  • Extended experience in the design, assembly, operation and analysis of experiments 
  • Good programming skills in C++ and JavaScript 
  • Good knowledge of English 
  • Good knowledge of German or willingness to quickly learn the language 
  • Competence in training and mentoring young scientists 
  • Enjoy working in a team-oriented interdisciplinary environment
