The Committee for Equal Opportunities started to work on its projects when the decision of the PSI directorate in December 2008 was made. It is the committees mission to support the directorate in ensuring equal opportunities for all employees.
More precisely, this means the committee is in contact with the employees of PSI and is therefore able to propose measures to the directorate as well as support it regarding the implementation in order to increase equal opportunities at PSI.
The position of the Diversity Manager was created as a joint venture with Eawag in 2017.
In 2021, the overarching Center of Competence for Diversity & Inclusion PSI - EAWAG -EMPA was formed, which led to the creation of an additional position. Through them, synergies are to be used and a regular exchange between the three research institutions is to be ensured.
The Center of Competence for Diversity & Inclusion works closely with the Equal Opportunities Committee and Human Resources Management. It provides expertise, sets priorities for implementation and is responsible for monitoring and reporting. It is also responsible for the regular mutual exchange between the research institutes of the ETH Domain.
