Responsibilities at PSI

  • SwissFEL and SLS-injector linacs: co-coordination of operations and upgrades in cooperation with the technical, beam dynamics and operation groups.
  • Responsible for the development and testing of the next generation photocathode RF guns at PSI in the framework of the EU project IFAST.
  • Principal Investigator of the approved CHART proposal for the FCC-ee Injector complex design and for the positron and electron sources experiment at PSI (2025-2028).
  • Responsible of the collaboration between PSI, CERN and DESY for the development of an X-band transverse deflecting RF system with variable polarisation (PolariX TDS system).
  • New concepts,R&D and measurements of radio-frequency structures and diagnostics for SwissFEL, SLS, HIPA and in the context of international collaborations (INFN-LNF, FERMI-Elettra, DESY, CERN, KEK, SLAC).
  • Analysis and optimisation of the interaction between beam and acceleration structures and components (wakefield and impedance). Beam manipulation with passive structures.
  • Supervision of summer students and PhDs.
