Your tasks

  • Design and implementation of competitive scientific research within the strategic scope of the LAC and the Atmosphere-Biosphere-Interactions group specifically, including collaboration with research groups within and outside PSI
  • Development and application of chemical ionization mass spectrometric techniques
  • Training and supervision of PhD students and Postdocs in experimental work and use of state-of-the-art data analysis tools
  • Publication of scientific results in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at international conferences
  • Preparation of proposals and acquisition of funding to support research activities
  • Teaching at university level

Your profile

  • PhD degree in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences, Physics or related
  • Multi-year experience at postdoctoral level
  • Excellent research track record in Atmospheric Sciences or Environmental Sciences
  • Highly skilled and experienced in atmospheric experimental research, including in-depth expertise in operating atmospheric chemical ionization mass spectrometers, and organization and leading of laboratory and field campaigns
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and able to operate in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills in English
  • Interest in establishing close collaboration with atmospheric modellers
