Postdoctoral Fellow in detector development

High-Z sensors

Your tasks

You will participate in the development of X-ray detectors for high photon energies based on high-Z sensors. You will test detector prototypes, analyze the data, and try to correlate the detector performance with the material property. You will be involved in the characterization of high-Z compound semiconductor sensors like GaAs, CdTe, CdZnTe and novel materials like perovskites. You perform experiments and beamtimes to characterize and optimize these detectors and take part in scientific pilot experiments.

Your profile

  • You have a PhD degree in physics, electronic engineering or a subject related to solid state detectors
  • You have experience with radiation detectors, if possible using high-Z sensors
  • Skills in data analysis are required, preferably Root/C++ or Python
  • You are highly motivated, can work independently and strive to contribute with new ideas
  • You like to collaborate, enjoy teamwork and can clearly communicate in good English with people from different backgrounds
