Design and in-situ characterization of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells

Your tasks

  • Conduct a detailed analysis of performance loss breakdown of polymer electrolyte fuel cells in the frame of the FURTHER-FC EU funded project
  • Complement the performance analysis with operando analysis of water distribution using neutron imaging
  • Prepare and analyze novel gas diffusion layer materials to improve fuel cell performance
  • Present the results in peer reviewed publications and at international conferences

Your profile

  • PhD thesis conducted on electrochemical energy converters (fuel cell or electrolysers), including a strong focus on in situ characterisation
  • Practical experience with the design of specialized experimental setups
  • Independent analytical thinking and good scientific writing skills
  • Experience with in-situ imaging techniques or other specialized in-situ analysis of fuel cells is considered a plus
