Scientist (Tenure Track)

In Experimental Particle Physics

Your tasks

The High-Energy Physics Group at PSI is playing an active and visible role in the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC with leading contributions to detector design and construction, operation and data analysis. In cooperation with a team of scientists, postdocs, students, engineers and technicians you will develop high-performance silicon pixel detectors for particle physics experiments, contribute to the operation and upgrade of the CMS silicon pixel detector and perform physics analysis with the data collected at the CMS experiment.

Your profile

The successful candidate should have a PhD degree in experimental particle physics and postdoctoral (or equivalent) experience in the field of high-energy physics with an excellent academic and scientific track record. The candidate should have demonstrated achievements in the development, building and testing of particle physics detectors and performed research in data analysis at a particle physics experiment leading to journal publications. Profound programming skills and good knowledge of electronics are required. Expertise in silicon pixel detector systems would be an asset. Experience in leading project teams would be highly valued. The candidate should be scientifically ambitious, have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
