Scientist (f/m)

Multi-Physics Reactor Core and Fuel Simulations

Your tasks

  • Development and qualification of multi-physics multi-scale computational schemes for higher resolution 3-D core and nuclear fuel simulations
  • Establishment and application of best-estimate plus uncertainty methodologies for coupled core and plant system transient simulations
  • Qualification of advanced nodal core simulators for technical and scientific support on reactor safety analyses
  • Publication of scientific articles and supervision of students

Your profile

We are looking for a team player able to work independently and with strong interest in method development, validation and uncertainty quantification. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of deterministic and/or stochastic neutron transport methods combined with experience in multi-physics reactor simulations. Proficiency in modern programming languages as well as good understanding of mathematical statistical methods is expected while practice in high performance computing would be ideal. A solid background in multi-phase flow heat transfer and/or fuel thermo-mechanical phenomenology would be considered as a strong added value and a certain familiarity with chemistry would be an asset. Very good command of English is required and knowledge of German would be beneficial.
