Origin of irradiation creep – studied by in-beam creep testing, ex-situ TEM observation and SIMS trace diffusion measurement

Your tasks

The present PhD project aims to understand the mechanism of irradiation creep in nuclear environments. The tasks include:

  • Sample preparation, including Ni-64 and/or Fe-58 deposition
  • Trace depth profile of reference and irradiated sample by SIMS
  • Irradiation creep experiments by proton beam
  • TEM sample preparation and observation
  • Anylysis and Publish results in scientific literaturet

Your profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and cooperative student with talent and interest in experimental work. You must have a Master degree or a diploma in physics, materials, engineer, or in a related field. Experience in mechanical test is highly welcome. Good communication skill in English is required. Good German and French are beneficial.
