Simulations of splitting off a high intensity beam for radioisotope production at the UCN and IP2 beamline

Your tasks

  • Build a model of the beam splitter and new radioisotope target station in BDSIM
  • Perform realistic simulations of the complete beamline for beam profiles, beam transmission, energy spectra, as well as power deposits
  • Perform measurements during beam development
  • Make a qualitative comparison between measurement and simulation

Your profile

  • You are a physics student (minimum 4 semesters)
  • You are motivated in performing numerical simulations
  • You have basic skills in programming
  • You are open-minded, communicative and enjoy working in an international team
  • You have not yet completed your Master’s thesis
