You will investigate static electronic, magnetic and structural properties in materials and its ultrafast dynamics. The project is in the frame work of the theory network, the NCCR MARVEL. The goal of the experimental studies will either test theoretical predictions or have the potential to trigger new or help to guide theoretical investigations. Experiments to study the dynamics are based on ultrafast pump probe setups including the use of X-Rays as a probe.
For this purpose, static experiments are performed at the Swiss Light Source SLS at the PSI and ultrafast dynamics will be studied at X-Ray free electron laser sources, such as e. g. SwissFEL at PSI, the LCLS (Stanford, USA), SACLA (Japan) or the Eu-XFEL in Hamburg. These investigations will be in close collaboration with colleagues of other groups in and outside of PSI with strong links to the theory network.
You have a PhD in physics and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented environment. You want to understand physics of complex oxides on the atomic level and its ultrafast dynamics and you can easily integrate in a team. A good command of English is required.
