Postdoctoral Fellow

Your tasks

You will be studying irradiation-induced effects on materials which are being or are to be utilized in various facilities such as spallation neutron sources, accelerator driven systems (ADS) and next generation nuclear energy devices. You will conduct mechanical testing to investigate the changes in mechanical properties of materials such as Fe-, Al-, Ti-, Ni-, and W-based alloys after irradiation in the targets of Swiss Spallation Neutron Source (SINQ). You will also use advanced microstructural analytical techniques to analyze the microstructure of these irradiated materials.

Your profile

You hold a PhD degree in materials science and engineering or physics with good fundamental knowledge of solid physics and materials sciences. You are a skilled user of different microstructural analytical tools. Knowledge and experience of studying radiation effects on structural materials would be desirable. Furthermore, you are a friendly, open-minded, creative and highly motivated researcher.
