Postdoctoral Fellow

Micro-mechanical testing, electron microscopy and finite element modeling of irradiated materials

Your tasks

  • Manage ion-implantations in collaboration with an external institute
  • Carry out standard and micro-mechanical tests (nano-indentations and SEM in-situ deformation experiments)
  • Investigate by transmission electron microscopy the microstructure of deformed and irradiated materials
  • Develop analytical and finite element models to gain insight into structural size effects on plasticity
  • Preparation of scientific publications and technical reports
  • Contributions to education activities

Your profile

You hold a PhD degree in materials or physics or in an equivalent field and have excellent skills in transmission and scanning electron microscopy, FIB and microstructural characterization as well as experience in material testing. Some background in finite element modeling is advantageous. Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) are required.
