PSI and AlphaSYNT: Pioneers on the Path to Sustainable Energy Technologies

AlphaSYNT and the PSI Paul Scherrer Institute have jointly submitted a proposal to the Aargau Cantonal Research Fund to scale up their fluidized bed reactor to a double-digit MW capacity. The industrial implementation was successfully demonstrated in the HYFUELUP project, and with this funding, the next major step is now possible.

The technology for producing green methane or methanol allows for the replacement of fossil fuels, contributing to the achievement of global climate goals. Especially when combined with biomass gasification, the reactor efficiently processes complex syngas (hydrogen, CO2, CO) and offers both technical and economic advantages compared to existing solutions.
