Your tasks
- Lead experiments and coordinate activities in the scope of the SNSF-funded Swiss-French pulsed magnet consortium, focusing on high-field, low-temperature X-ray scattering to investigate structural symmetry breaking deep in the quantum regime
- Participate in the general development of the pulsed magnetic field setup at SwissFEL Cristallina and lead the low-temperature cryostat upgrade
- Support commissioning and pilot/user experiments of the Cristallina-Quantum experimental station
- Publish scientific results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences/workshops
Your profile
- PhD in natural sciences with a strong background in condensed matter physics
- Hands-on experience with large-scale facility experiments and developing scientific instrumentation, ideally involving high magnetic fields and cryogenics
- Experience in scattering techniques and development of data analysis tools is an advantage
- Good command of English
