The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. For the Technology Development Group at the Centre for Proton Therapy we are looking for a

Software Developer / Physicist

Maintenance and further development of the therapy control systems

Your tasks

  • Further development and maintenance of the therapy control systems for proton therapy facilities 
  • Performing system updates and quality assurance measurements 
  • Integration of the control systems into the entire facility
  • Operational support for the responsible systems
  • Support in maintaining the front‐end software

Your profile

You hold a degree in Physics or an equivalent qualification. You are experienced in software development and have in‐depth knowledge of Java, C++ and ideally also of real‐time systems such as VxWorks. You are familiar with accelerator technology or detectors from your studies or previous work. 
You enjoy working in a team and are open to personal development in a new field. Besides an independent and reliable way of working, you have a high level of quality awareness. You communicate with your team members fluently in German and English.
