Your tasks

  • Based at ETH Zurich with responsibility for setting up and running of growth facility at ETH Zurich
  • Initial help with maintenance of crystal growth facilities at PSI
  • Synthesis of single crystal materials with novel properties
  • Characterization using laboratory based and large-scale facility methods
  • Collaboration in projects at the ETH Zurich and Paul Scherrer Institute
  • Submitting proposals, publication of results in scientific journals and presentations at scientific meetings
  • Daily supervision of PhD Students, Master and Bachelor Students in practical projects

Your profile

We are looking for a self-motivated team player, able to work independently with expertise in synthesis of single crystal materials. The candidate must have a PhD degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or in a related field. Experience with large-scale facilities is an asset. A very good command of English is required. Candidates that do not speak German will be expected to learn it during the first years of employment.
