Higher Education

Doctoral Students

PSI provides interesting research projects in the natural and engineering sciences in a stimulating environment. We offer more than 300 doctoral programmes to provide outstanding educational and research possibilities through the concerted cooperation of PSI with technical and general universities in Switzerland and abroad. A clear scientific concentration is as important to us during the definition of a PhD topic as is the dovetailing to individual project topics within PSI. Working on common themes and having close cooperation between the doctoral students in a scientific team results in real added scientific value.

The PhD positions we currently offer are published here.

Trainees and Diploma Students

To be able to conclude their graduate degree in natural sciences at one of the large research facilities at PSI is particularly attractive for young scientists. Here, experienced researchers supervise Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma and Doctoral studies.

You will find all open practicum positions here.

For Bachelors, Masters and Diploma placements, please send the completed application form, together with your CV, by e-mail to: praktikanten@psi.ch

With the help of this overview of our research divisions and laboratories, you will be able to find out now which research areas interest you, and let us know this when sending us your application.

Universities

Scientists at PSI not only support the education of students at PSI in Villigen. Many of them also hold a lecturer's position at one of the Swiss Universities, Technical Universities or technical colleges. They therefore teach students in the lecture hall and are also able to provide them with access to leading research at large research facilities that the universities cannot provide.
