Dr. Partha Das is a Scientist at the Energy Economics Group in the Laboratory for Energy Systems Analysis at the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI since October 2024. His expertise includes Energy and Power System Modeling and Optimization.
Partha's current research focuses on the energy system transition in both Switzerland and Europe. In the iDesignRES project, he is developing a spatially and temporarily granular open source sector-coupled energy system model building on the JRC-EU-TIMES model. In the reFuel.ch project, Partha is expanding the representation of industrial sectors in the JRC-EU-TIMES model and developing inputs for modeling sustainable fuels and platform chemicals in Switzerland.
Partha holds a PhD in Energy System Modeling and Analysis from MNIT Jaipur and a master's degree in Energy Science & Technology from Jadavpur University Before joining PSI, Partha worked as an R&D at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO).
