Postdoctoral Fellow Ultrafast FEL Science

80% or more, flextime

Your tasks

As creative minds interested in ultrafast research on material functions, you and your colleagues plan and realize ultrafast experiments using optical and Free Electron X-ray Lasers. You investigate the measurement and control of ultrafast wave packets in molecular materials during optical excitations. Your responsibilities include developing ultrafast laser sources to control optical excitations. As part of a multinational collaboration project, you interpret your experimental results.

Your profile

  • You look forward to using your PhD knowledge in physics, chemistry, or engineering to implement new experiments together with our team.
  • You have experience either setting up hardware and software for ultrafast pump-probe experiments or applying X-ray diffraction and spectroscopy techniques.
  • You feel comfortable taking the initiative in and engaging with an interdisciplinary, multinational research environment.

We offer

Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration. You will profit from a systematic training on the job, in addition to personal development possibilities and our pronounced vocational training culture. If you wish to optimally combine work and family life or other personal interests, we are able to support you with our modern employment conditions and the on-site infrastructure.

Your initial employment contract is limited to 2 years with possible extension for another year.
