Postdoctoral Fellow Detector Development
Embedded in a cross-disciplinary English-speaking team in the Photon Science Detector Group, you help develop the next generation of single-photon counting pixel detectors. Your responsibilities include testing detector prototypes, interpreting data, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the chip design. You participate in experiments and beamtimes to characterize and optimize single-photon counting detectors. You support us in characterizing detectors with sensors for specific applications, for example, LGADs for soft X-rays and high-Z materials for high energies.
- You are looking forward to supporting us with your PhD knowledge in physics, electronic engineering, or a related field
- You have a working knowledge of readout electronics for X-ray detection
- You feel comfortable coding in C++ or Python
- You enjoy sharing ideas and taking the initiative in your work
Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration. You will profit from a systematic training on the job, in addition to personal development possibilities and our pronounced vocational training culture. If you wish to optimally combine work and family life or other personal interests, we are able to support you with our modern employment conditions and the on-site infrastructure.
Your employment contract is limited to 2 years.
