Science Editor

Your tasks

PSI researchers publish numerous papers in high-ranking peer-reviewed journals. As a science editor, you will communicate this scientific research to a scientific audience for the PSI website and our social media channels. You will write attractive, accessible, English-language texts about each publication in which you highlight, for a specialist audience, the excellence of the research work that has been done. You are also responsible for illustrating these texts in an attractive way. You produce the texts and images in close consultation with the authors of the journal papers. You publish texts and images on the PSI website as well as via EurekAlert. In addition, you work closely with PSI's social media manager to establish social media channels through which you can advertise the website.

Your profile

You have a degree in the natural sciences. Your scientific understanding extends beyond your own subject area and encompasses the broad spectrum of topics explored at PSI. You have an excellent command of English and excellent written and oral communication skills. You can provide work samples of texts that you have written for a specialist audience based on scientific publications in PRL, Nature, Science, or comparable journals. You are familiar with handling social media. You are able to work under pressure to deadlines and you have good organisational and time management skills. Your German language skills are sufficient to communicate in everyday working life.
