Unconventional computing based on arrays of nanomagnets

Your tasks

The successful candidate has a background in magnetic thin films, nanostructures and devices. He/she will be responsible for developing unconventional computing based on the behaviour of arrays of nanomagnets. This will include control of the nanomagnet interactions, observation of the emergent behaviour, and interfacing to electronics. Characterisation will mainly be carried out using lab-based characterisation methods (nanoMOKE, transport, SQUID-VSM), but there is also a possibility to use synchrotron x-ray microscopy at the Swiss Light Source.

Your profile

The successful candidate has outstanding qualifications with a PhD in physics, electrical engineering, materials science or a related subject, and preferably has experience with unconventional computation using nanomagnets. He/she should be very motivated, proactive and creative in order to be successful, and should have good team and communication skills.
