Your tasks
- Lead research projects to elucidate mechanisms underpinning the function of the active elements of lithium and beyond lithium batteries, direct lithium extraction electrodes and iontronic devices
- Contribute to the development of scattering, spectroscopy, and imaging methods to characterize battery electrode materials and develop synthetic routes to design new battery materials
- Establish academic and industrial collaborations in projects focused on the battery ecosystem from resource extraction to battery materials design and recycling
- Publication of results in scientific journals and presentations at scientific meetings
- Assist the Laboratory Head in preparation and execution of research projects
- Supervision of PhD Students and Postdoctoral Researchers
- Assistance in laboratory management, equipment maintenance, and infrastructure planning
Your profile
- You are a self-motivated collaborative researcher capable of taking on leadership tasks and with the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team with prior experience in solid-state chemistry, battery materials, and operando characterization
- You must have a PhD degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or in a related field
- Extensive experience in materials characterization including scattering, spectroscopy, and imaging methods is desirable; experience with utilization of large-scale synchrotron or neutron facilities is preferred
- You have demonstrated a track record of contributions and leadership in collaborative projects and experience with battery electrochemistry
- You have a good publication track record and excellent communication skills in English
