Your tasks
- High fidelity numerical simulations of coupled Thermo-Hydro-Chemo-Mechanical (THMC) processes in repository nearfield, working towards the creation of a digital twin.
- Co-development of coupled codes and improvement of process coupling.
- Development of surrogate models using machine learning for the acceleration of numerical simulations to be used for design optimization, uncertainty and sensitivity analysis.
- Publishing the results in peer reviewed research papers, and presentations to showcase the work conducted.
Your profile
We are looking for an expert in numerical simulations of coupled process with previous experience in at least one of related field i.e. model development, machine learning, or use of HPC infrastructure. The candidate should have a fair understanding of repository geochemistry and THMC-process couplings. Proficient programming skills (e.g., python, C/C++, …) and experience with the use of ML-tools (e.g., Tensorflow or Pytorch…). The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Natural Sciences (Physics/Chemistry/GeoSciences/Engineering) or Applied Mathematics.
