Little gardeners make a big impact – we plant our raised beds

At the Nanolino daycare centre, we worked with the children to plant various seedlings in the ground, including cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, peppermint, basil, chives and courgettes.

The children were allowed to help prepare the soil, plant the seeds and water everything thoroughly. They had a lot of fun and showed great interest in the different herbs and vegetables.

With this small gardening project, we want to teach the children about nature and the growth process of plants. They can observe how the plants change, grow and thrive from day to day. At the same time, they learn to take responsibility by regularly helping to water and care for the plants.

In the future, we would like to work with the children to prepare simple, child-friendly dishes and teas from the harvested herbs and vegetables. This will not only teach them where our food comes from, but also how to turn it into something delicious and healthy.
