Latest Version of "Mobiltool" Released

How do you get from A to B in the most environmentally friendly way? This question can now be answered quite easily with the latest version of the "mobitool"– thanks to the comprehensive update of the life cycle inventories of various means of transport, which was carried out by the Technology Assessment Group on behalf of the FOEN.

The new mobitool allows the comparison of the environmental impacts of 2-wheelers, passenger cars, public transport, virtual mobility and freight transport. It includes not only greenhouse gas emissions, but also other indicators such as primary energy consumption and air pollutant emissions such as particulate matter and nitrogen oxides.

Thanks to a flexible tool design, users can also select and adapt a wide range of parameters such as the service life of the vehicles, their utilisation, the type and size of batteries or the source of electricity used. This means that individual mobility behaviour can be taken into account.
