Call for Proposals
SINQ - call for proposals II/21, proposal submission deadline: May 15, 2021
The Digital User Office will be open for proposal submission approximately 4-5 weeks before the deadline. Of course editing and saving of proposals is possible any time.
Next Scheduling Periods
- May - August 2021 (I/21)
- September - December 2021 (II/21)
Available Instruments
The following instruments will be either fully or partially available in cycle II/21:*
Powder Diffractometer | HRPT |
---|---|
Single Crystal Diffractometer | ZEBRA |
Strain Scanner | POLDI |
Small Angle Scattering | SANS-I |
Triple Axis Spectrometers | TASP, EIGER |
Multiplexing Spectrometer | CAMEA |
Time-of-Flight Spectrometer | FOCUS |
Neutron Imaging | NEUTRA, ICON |
N-Microscope (experimental option on POLDI and ICON)* |
* Please note:
- The multiplexing spectrometer CAMEA is open for new proposals and partly available for user operation in cycle II-21 (Sep-Dec). The powder diffractometer DMC and the reflectometer AMOR are undergoing major upgrades and thereafter the respective commissioning phase. DMC might be available for expert friendly users later in 2021.
- Within the partnership between PSI and the LLB/FR and until the new SANS-LLB facility at SINQ is available for user operation a certain amount of beamtime on the instrument SANS-I will be reserved for proposals with an author/co-author from the LLB.
- The Neutron Microscope is an experimental setup that can be used on the two instruments POLDI and ICON. If you intend to use the microscope setup, please submit your proposal for ICON or POLDI and choose the option "Neutron Microscope" during the proposal submission procedure. Please discuss the choice of the instrument well ahead with the person in charge for the microscope.
- Finally, beamtime on the instrument MORPHEUS can be allocated by contacting the instrument responsible directly.
PSI launches also a call for joint X-ray and neutron proposals (SLS/MS-Powder beamline and SINQ/HRPT) in the field of powder diffraction. Detailed information can be obtained here.
