The UCN Physics Group offers various opportunities to students for practical training, semester projects, for bachelor and master theses. Student projects become part of our ongoing research projects as the search for an electric dipole moment of the neutron with the n2EDM experiment, the neutron lifetime experiment tauSPECT, the ultracold neutron source and other measurements with UCNs.
The topics are centered within the following areas:
- Development of different subsystems of the n2EDM experiment and its future upgrades
- Analysis of n2EDM data
- Development of magnetic field sensors and analysis of measurements
- Simulation of UCN-related properties of the n2EDM apparatus and the UCN source
- Development of a thin film coating facility
