During the week of March 15 – 19, we had the pleasure to welcome 20 international PhD students, PostDocs and assistant professors at PSI, taking part in the first virtual Hercules School on Neutrons & Synchrotron Radiation. The participants attended lectures, virtual tours, remote practicals at beamlines of the Swiss Light Source (SLS) and tutorials at the Swiss Spallation Neutron Source (SINQ).

The school covers multiple disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, material science and industrial applications. This 1-month school, from which 1 week was carried out at PSI, is dedicated to introduce the participants to new techniques and methods at large scale facilities utilizing photons and neutrons.
