MOSAiC Blog

Follow our experiences during the MOSAiC expedition. We conduct aerosol measurements on board the icebreaker Polarstern that will drift from September 2019 to October 2020 through the Arctic. Blog entries will be posted roughly on a bi-weekly basis.

Expedition Start!

“It’s happening, it’s real.”, the chief scientist, Markus Rex (AWI), can’t believe himself that the MOSAiC expedition is on its way now. On 20 September at 20h30 we bid farewell to Polarstern, our colleagues and the crew as they left port in Tromsö.
