Your tasks
- PhD Thesis in condensed matter physics
- Investigation of the lattice dynamical properties of beta-pyrochlores with `charge ice’ correlated disorder, and the consequences for phonon dispersion relations and lifetimes and thermal transport properties
- Support user activities at the Laboratory for Neutron Scattering and/or teaching activities generally at the institution of the thesis advisor
- Density functional simulation of phonon dispersions and lifetimes and thermal conductivity in beta-pyrochlores
- Inelastic neutron scattering measurements of phonon dispersions and lifetimes in beta pyrochlores and/or thermal conductivity measurements
Your profile
- Master degree in Physics
- Experience in first principles calculations
- Experience in numerical data analysis
- The project is particularly suited to a candidate with interest in both theoretical and experimental work
