First magnetic image at PolLux with SLS 2.0

Magnetic image of a Co-based perpendicularly magnetized multilayer stack acquired at the PolLux beamline of the SLS 2.0 source, with a 10nm pixel size. The high coherent photon flux offered by the SLS 2.0 allows the routine fast acquisition of high resolution magnetic images.

The first magnetic image with the newly upgraded SLS 2.0 diffraction limited synchrotron lightsource has been acquired on October 5th at the PolLux scanning transmission X-ray microscope.

The image was acquired on a perpendicularly magnetized Co-based multilayer stack, with a pixel size of 10nm and a spatial resolution limited by the focusing optics (35nm).

Thanks to the increased coherent photon flux offered by the SLS 2.0, the fast acquisition of high-resolution, high-quality magnetic images will be routinely possible.
