Deposition of Droplets

A: Droplets deposition device: dosage device DOSTAL DOSY (1), 3D positioning system (2). B: 3.5 µL droplets (1.88 mm diameter of a sphere with equal volume) placed onto a stretched low density polyethylene film 0.635 µm thick
A: Droplets deposition device: dosage device DOSTAL DOSY (1), 3D positioning system (2). B: 3.5 µL droplets (1.88 mm diameter of a sphere with equal volume) placed onto a stretched low density polyethylene film 0.635 µm thick
This method consists in deposition of droplets on a backing, followed by their drying out. The apparatus for the deposition of droplets includes two remotely controlled devices (see Figure): a dosage device (1) mounted on the 3D positioning system (2), which allows precise positioning of the droplet dosage tip above the backing. The advantages of this technique are: quantitative yields, obtainment of very thin deposited layer, in the order of some tens of µg/cm2. The drawback is that the targets are not uniform.
