Instrument Description

Single Ge Monochromator:

Orion takes-off the beam with a Ge monochromator, now allowing to use the three following wavelengths:

λ1=3.3 Å (mom1:2.033°, relative intensity: 1)

λ2=1.73 Å (mom1:31.54°, relative intensity: ~1/2)

λ3=1.32 Å (mom1:21.52°, relative intensity: ~1/3)

Detector-system:

  • Single He3-tube
  • Fission-based beam-monitor
  • Variable collimation after sample

Sample table:

  • closed Eulerian cradle (room temperature only) with holder for gluing crystals at oriented positions

User Angles:

  • stt, om, chi and phi
  • sttmax: 107°
  • ommax : 54°
