NAA

For irradiations with the NAA, the sample material is usually placed in a first polyethylene container. This in turn is fixed in the transport capsule. Starting in the laboratory, the sample will be placed at the irradiation position by sending it through a pneumatic tube system of about 80m length. The way of the return after the exposure is the same.

Advantages compared to the PNA system:

  • Shorter preparation time and improved handling thanks PE capsule with screw cap
  • Lower temperatures during irradiation (~ 70 °)
  • Short access times after irradiation (minutes)
  • Sample ends directly in the laboratory, therefore no additional transport for further processing necessary
  • Less radioactive waste thanks to the use of polyethylene containers
