Technology transfer at the Paul Scherrer InstitutFrom knowledge to market success

PSI strives to make new findings from research accessible to the industry to strengthen the competitiveness of Swiss industrial enterprises. As a result, firms can launch innovations on the market, secure existing jobs and even create new ones. PSI offers technologies, products and know-how. With its facilities and methods it can additionally support companies' research and development processes, as well as implement joint research projects with the industry. PSI also fosters and encourages its scientists to exploit their inventions which may result in spin-off companies.

The team of technology transfer is here to support you

The technology transfer office supports you with additional information and with advice regarding PSIs activities. It acts as link between a potentially interested company and the corresponding scientist at PSI. For the industrial partner the technology transfer office represents the first point of contact and the facilitator to the experts at PSI. In-house it supports the parties involved in contractual and administrative matters, and manages intellectual property rights. more

PSI as Transfer Partner

PSI scientists are active in a broad spectrum of research activities, including the development and operation of large and complex research facilities. Within these activities they work on projects focused on basic research as well as projects on application-oriented topics. Intellectual property at PSI

The Paul Scherrer Institute uses the tools of Intellectual Property Protection in order to make the results of its research interesting for commercial exploitation by its industrial partners. Herein priority is given to patents which protect the inventions of the scientists, and hence safeguard the investments of PSI, but also of the industrial partner in terms of subsequent commercialisation. more
