Group Head, Chemical Processes and Materials
Christian Ludwig received his master’s degree (1990) and PhD (1993) from the Chemistry Department at the University of Berne, Switzerland. Post Doctoral years were spent at the Department of Land, Air, and Water Resources (LAWR), UC Davis, CA (1994-1995) and at the Swiss Federal Institute for Environmental Science and Technology EAWAG (1995-1997). 1997 he joined Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). Today, he is head of a research group at PSI and adjunct professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL) in the field of Solid Waste Treatment.
Senior Scientist Chemical Processes and Materials
Andrea Testino received his master’s degree in Industrial Chemistry (2000) and PhD in Material Science (2004) from the University of Genoa (Italy). He did post-doctoral studies at EPFL (CH), University College London (UK), and University of Milan (Italy) working on ceramic nanoparticles synthesis and characterization. In 2007 he joined the company TDK-EPC in Austria as Senior Development Engineer working in the Ceramic Components Division on Innovative Themes. In 2011 he joined the Paul Scherrer Institut, establishing the Advanced Nanopowders Synthesis Laboratory. Since 2022 he is MER (Maîtres d'Enseignement et de Recherche) at EPFL.
