Measuring positions

NEUTRA 3D med.jpg

At NEUTRA three positions can be used inside the shielded area along the beam line for different purposes:

1 A 320 kV X-ray tube allows X-ray radiography/tomography with almost identical imaging optics as used for neutrons i.e. dual modality radiography.
2 Investigation of small samples (size < 15 cm) with either neutrons or X-ray. Position of NEURAP setup for highly radioactive samples.
3 Neutron radiography/tomography of large samples (size < 30 cm) and horizontal/vertical scanning of large objects.

Sample positioning

Remotely controlled linear tables allow sample positioning in vertical direction and horizontally. Optionally a rotary table can be used to rotate objects about their vertical axis in the beam e.g. for sample tomography.
