TCH-GEM-E3: The Role of Innovation and Policy Design in Energy and Environment for a Sustainable in Europe
TCH-GEM-E3 had three main objectives:
- Maintenance and update of the GEM-E3 model, which was developed in previous EU programmes, and extension of its geographic coverage (Eastern Europe and full integration of Switzerland).
- Extension of the GEM-E3 model to improve its realism (endogenous technological progress, imperfect competition, integration bottom-up and top-down modelling for the electricity sector).
- Study Energy/Environment policies and their effect on sustainable growth, such as Kyoto and R&D policies.
