Research Software Engineering (RSE) Movement at PSI

The event was organised by the HPCE group (High Performance and Emerging Technologies Group) and we had the pleasure to welcome two keynote speakers from ETHZ, Uwe Schmitt and Tarun Chadha. Both of them are working at ETHZ Science IT, helped to build up a research software engineer community at ETHZ and are precursor in spreading the RSE movement in Switzerland- and are  supporting us to build an RSE community at PSI.

Uwe focussed on what the concept of RSE is and why this such positions are important for PSI, while Tarun presented their strategy to spread the movement inside the ETH domain and future strategies.

The event was ended by questions from the attendees. The next step is to organize an in-person event at PSI (most probably in June) and a meeting with group heads.
