New operational licence

In the year 2005 an application for a new operation license (under new nuclear law) was send to the regulator ENSI.

In the following years, the safety report, operational documentation and infrastructure of the hot laboratory was updated and put in conformity to the new and fast evolving nuclear regulations. In 2017, the safety authority (ENSI) requested the delivery of a new operation licence for the hot laboratory to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (BFE), the licensing authority.

On 21st of February 2019 the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) issued  the new operational licence.
