Sebastian Richter is a physicist who joined the Photon Science Division at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in 2023. He studied physics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Tübingen, focusing on accelerator and medical physics. After more than three years at CERN working on high-temperature superconductors (HTS) and HTS undulator magnets, he received his Ph.D. at KIT where he continued research on superconducting magnets at the Institute for Beam Physics and Technology collaborating with CERN as well as with KIT’s Institute of Technical Physics. Sebastian Richter started his work at PSI as a scientist in 2023 before the launch of the SLS2.0 upgrade, for which he is working on the realization of the undulator upgrade.
