COVID-19: Test obligation for external PSI users
Starting May 1, 2021 all external users of the PSI facilities SLS, SwissFEL, SINQ, SμS and CHRISP must present a certificate of a negative PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 according to Swiss BAG rules for air travel (i.e. currently with the date of the result being not older than 72 hrs when arriving at PSI, NO self-testing). The same rules will apply to external users of the Solid State Chemistry user facilities.
“External” means: both not being affiliated to PSI and without a long-term or permanent PSI access badge. More details can be found here.
The D8 and the Laue device are operated and maintained by the staff of the Solid State Chemistry Group at the Laboratory for Materials Experiments (NUM Division ). These instruments are important for the Group scientific activity, which uses them in combination with the techniques available at the PSI large scale facilities (neutron and x-ray scattering, muon spin rotation) for its own material synthesis and characterization research programs.
The use of the devices is open to other PSI groups and to external academic users under certain conditions. The general rules PSI-Weisungen regarding publications, safety, chemicals, toxic materials, radioactive materials, magnetic and electric fields apply explicitly to all activities of LMX and its guests (see Allgemeine Weisungen).
Documentation to the use of resources and general rules about collaborations with other groups can be found here.
The access to the devices will be forbidden in the case of non-observance of these rules
