Micro- and Nanofabrication for Biosensing

The Laboratory for Micro- and Nanotechnology (LMN) at PSI offers advanced methods for development, prototyping, and low-volume fabrication of devices for biosensing. Sensor devices based on microfluidics may significantly improve the rapid diagnosis of biologically relevant species including the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

LMN provides technological and scientific expertise in

Optofluidic sensor device with integrated microneedle

Examples from earlier projects realized in collaboration with LMN include:

Optical micrograph of a micro-injection molded polypropylene micro-cantilever sensor array. Each cantilever is 500 µm long, 100 µm wide and 25 µm thin
