The Laboratory for Micro- and Nanotechnology (LMN) at PSI offers advanced methods for development, prototyping, and low-volume fabrication of devices for biosensing. Sensor devices based on microfluidics may significantly improve the rapid diagnosis of biologically relevant species including the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
LMN provides technological and scientific expertise in
- high aspect ratio and 3D lithography,
- replication technology for microfluidic devices,
- bio-functionalization of surfaces,
- and optical analysis by absorption and fluorescence measurements.
Examples from earlier projects realized in collaboration with LMN include:
the fabrication of an integrated microneedle-optofluidic biosensor
the fabrication of polymer-based cantilever-arrays for DNA/RNA-detection.
