Anuschka Pauluhn works as beamline manager at the macromolecular crystallography  (MX) group of  the SLS.  She received her diploma in Mathematics from the Westfälische Wilhelms Universität in Münster/D and her Dr.rer.nat. (Ph.D.) in physics from Universtität Hamburg/D. She wrote her dissertation on Stochastic Beam Dynamics for Accelerators at the Deutsches Elektonen Synchrotron DESY in Hamburg.
Her research activities included data analysis in remote sensing for oceanography at Universtität Hamburg and  JPL/NASA, Pasadena, USA as well as data analysis and calibration projects for astrophysical, especially solar physics, related studies and instrumentation at the ETH Zürich, the Fachhochschule Bern and the International Space Science Institute ISSI, Bern. She worked as lecturer at the Fachhochschule Bern and the Fernfachhochschule Schweiz. Besides, she has served as editor on several books and on public outreach journals for astrophysics and space science in general.

Her main responsibilities at the SLS are calibration and maintenance of the MX beamline components, operation and user support.

Her research interests have been on pattern recognition in sea surface topography measured by satellite altimetry and comparing to ocean modelling and in-situ data. In the context of an ESA Prodex project, she has been responsible for the cross-calibration of several EUV instruments on the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, SOHO. Later  she worked on the analysis of solar EUV time series and simulation of flaring events in order to estimate the impact of nanoflaring events on the heating of the solar corona. She acts as a member of the pro ISSI association, which is part of the public outreach team of the International Space Science Institute ISSI in Bern.
Since several years she works on the calibration and operation of the SLS MX beamlines.
