NMI3-II

NMI3 falls within the activity 'Structuring the European Research Area: Research Infrastructures' of the EU 7th Framework programme. In the EU Framework Programme 7 (FP7) all of the different activities related to a common type of Research Infrastructure are combined into a single project - an Integrated Infrastructure Initiative (I3).
The Integrated Infrastructure Initiative for Neutron Scattering and Muon Spectroscopy (NMI3) is a consortium of 18 partner organisations from 12 countries, including 8 facilities. More information about NMI3.
Programme-specific information
General
Please note that not each eligible proposal can be funded due to limited amount of available funds. Funding in general is not available for Swiss users since due to the EU regulations users from the host country are not eligible. If an experiment is eligible and has passed the criteria for funding we usually reimburse the expenses for one member of a group of scientists performing an experiment at SINQ. The group leader of the experimental team is free to decide which scientist out of his team should be supported but it has to be somebody affiliated to one of the eligible countries!
Information about funding
Shortly after the notification about the acceptance of the proposals we inform the main proposers of the selected proposals that their experiment will be funded. If such an email is not received the respective proposal could not be selected for the access programme because of limited funds.
Acknowledgement Statement
All publications resulting from experiments which were funded within the NMI3 EU access programme should contain the following acknowledgement statement:
"This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under the NMI3-II Grant number 283883."
In addition the usual PSI acknowledgement statement is required. Please have a further look here. Many thanks for your cooperation.
Report Duties for Funded Projects
Users whose experiments have been supported within the NMI3 access program have to provide some information after performing the experiment. This is necessary for us to fulfill our reporting duties against the funding agency. So please follow the instructions below:
- Read the instructions first.
- Please submit an experimental report as pdf file via the Digital User Office DUO. The report template can be downloaded here either in MS word or pdf format.
- Submit the online EU user satisfaction form. Please use NMI3-II (283883) as EC contract number and the following syntax for the user project acronym: SINQ/SμS_proposal number, e.g. SINQ_20110453.
Please be aware that the reports and acknowledgements within the access program do not replace the correct acknowledgement of SINQ/SμS and the usual experimental report form. If you have any further question please don't hesitate to contact the PSI User Office.
