Research Interests

My research is based on small-angle scattering (SAS) techniques, with a particular focus on characterizing the structure of soft matter systems with neutrons SANS and X-rays SAXS. So far, I've worked in different projects and groups with various types of soft materials, and my passion for SAS remains constant. During my exchanges between ETH (lecturer) and PSI (soft matter and beamline scientist), I have acquired expertise in performing and interpreting standard SAS measurements in diverse complex soft matter materials, as well as method development for in situ SAS measurements, such as the structural mapping of fluids under flow, imaging and tomographic techniques. 

My research interests span a broad spectrum, for example hierarchical biomaterials (polysaccharide-based), self-assembled systems, and alternative routes for biopolymers and material characterization. Currently, I am co-responsible for the commissioning and user program of a new SANS-LLB instrument, which is shared among LLB (Saclay, France), and SINQ/PSI. 

My current projects involve in situ SANS method development, mainly applied to soft matter under flow. These include the development of microfluidics platforms for SANS, chemical reactions under confinement and dark-field imaging.
