The SLS and SwissFEL facilities provide unique characterisation techniques to efficiently and promptly support these needs. Our interdisciplinary teams comprising of physicists, molecular and structural biologists, chemists and beamline scientists are ready to assist with their expertise. Consequently, we have opened a "PRIORITY COVID-19 Call” for short proposals and quick peer review to enable rapid access to beamtime. Research proposals shall have the potential to effectively contribute to the understanding of the virus and/or to improve the clinical or public health response and patient care. This "PRIORITY COVID-19 Call” is explicitly for projects requiring a rapid access to beamtime within the next months. For other projects we are referring to our regular calls. We strongly encourage any group with a need for beamtime to submit their proposals.
Further information on how to submit your proposal can be obtained here.
The “PRIORITY COVID-19 Call” will be continuously open until the end of 2020.
Offer on Skills for Collaboration
A better understanding of COVID-19 and its spread is essential in order to detect the disease, treat and protect patients and ultimately control the epidemic.
This is why the Paul Scherrer Institut is open for collaboration with other research groups and industry to develop treatments and diagnostics to better tackle the COVID-19 outbreak and to increase preparedness for future possible outbreaks.
